YouLolo is funded by display advertising, affiliate commissions and a limited number of sponsorships. This page explains how advertising works here and what separates it from our editorial content.

Editorial independence

Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content. They do not see articles before publication, do not review or approve coverage, and cannot request the removal of a negative verdict. No advertiser receives favourable coverage in exchange for spending.

Display advertising

We work with third party advertising partners who serve ads on this site. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to select and measure advertising. What data they collect and how you can opt out is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

We aim to keep the reading experience workable:

• No ads that block the article until dismissed in a way you cannot escape
• No auto playing audio
• Ad density kept within the standards set by our ad management partner and by the Coalition for Better Ads

Sponsored content

Sponsored articles are paid for by a brand. When we publish one:

• It carries a clear sponsored label at the top of the page
• The sponsoring brand is named
• We only accept sponsorships for products relevant to our readers
• We retain the right to describe the product accurately, including its limitations

Gifted products

Products sent to us at no charge are disclosed in the article that features them. A gift does not guarantee coverage and does not guarantee a positive review.

What we do not accept

• Advertising for products making unsupported medical or health claims
• Undisclosed paid links, paid guest posts or link insertions in existing articles
• Content that discriminates against or demeans any group
• Anything that would require us to mislead our readers
