Editorial Policy

How our articles are researched, reviewed, updated and corrected.

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This policy describes how content on YouLolo is researched, written, reviewed and corrected. It exists so readers can judge our work by a stated standard.

Our standard

Every article should be accurate, useful and honest about uncertainty. Where evidence is thin, we say so. Where a claim comes from a brand rather than from independent research, we attribute it to the brand.

How we research

  • We consult manufacturer documentation, ingredient databases and, where available, peer reviewed literature
  • We distinguish clearly between what has been studied in humans and what is marketing language
  • We look at long term user reports, not only first impressions
  • We name sources for claims that a reader might reasonably want to verify

How we evaluate products

  • We consider formulation, ingredient concentration where disclosed, texture, wear, packaging and price per use
  • We report who a product suits and who should skip it, including skin type, tone range and sensitivity
  • Testing periods are stated where relevant, particularly for skincare, where results take weeks
  • We do not rewrite press releases and publish them as reviews

Sourcing and attribution

Quotes, statistics and study findings are attributed to their source with a link where one exists. Images are either original, licensed, or used with permission. We do not present another publication’s reporting as our own.

Use of AI tools

Where AI assistance is used in research or drafting, the output is checked and edited by a human before publication. A human is responsible for every published article and for its accuracy.

Corrections

We correct errors. If a factual mistake is confirmed:

  • The article is corrected promptly
  • Significant corrections are noted on the article itself
  • Corrections that change the substance of a recommendation are noted at the top

To report an error, email youlolofficial@gmail.com with the article link and the specific issue.

Updates to existing articles

Beauty products are reformulated and discontinued constantly. We review evergreen articles periodically and update prices, availability and formulations. The date shown on an article reflects its most recent substantive review.

Independence

Commercial relationships never determine editorial verdicts. See our Advertising Policy and Affiliate Disclosure for how those relationships are handled and disclosed.

Reader feedback

Disagreement is welcome and often useful. Write to youlolofficial@gmail.com with your experience and we will consider it in the next update of the article.
